Gibb House, Loughborough

Back

Design a home that will meet the needs of a large family with an outdoor lifestyle.

Set in South Nottinghamshire near the Nottingham University campus, the design of the house required a presence proportionate to the grandeur of the surrounding detached houses and educational buildings. We worked with our clients to develop a brief that would meet their outdoor lifestyle and the results were a house that was functional, had a strong inside-outside connection, and also had areas for relaxation such as the sunroom and exercise pool area.

The clay tiles and hipped roofs reflect the local farmhouse vernacular found in the area, and we used double-glazed high performance windows to mitigate against any noise from the adjacent railway track.
