To design a new restaurant that will create better facilities for all seasons.
We were asked to design a new restaurant seating space for Derwen Garden Centre that would tie in with their existing café and kitchen. Essentially the requirement was to provide more indoor seating space and an additional kitchen space that would free-up the existing pot-wash area to become a cold food preparation area.
We worked with the staff at Derwen to optimise the layout arrangement to make sure that the best solution was found. The end result was a spacious seating area that offers a flexible arrangement of seating for seasonal group bookings or normal café operations and with a large walkway and covered area for outdoor seating in the summer. This also creates shading to the large windows, preventing over-heating in the summer.
